Educational Technology Learning provides experienced, knowledgeable trainers to facilitate the learning of the A+LS Program. Our trainers focus on each teacher’s learning style in order to effectively communicate the important features of the software system. Not only do our trainers concentrate on teaching skills for the software, but are also dedicated to helping teachers develop action plans for implementation into their individual classrooms. There are three types of staff development:
Basic A+LS Training
This training course introduces participants to the features of the program and assists in navigating through the program. These features include creating class rosters, assignment and reviewing assessment tests and developing individual education plans (IEP) for every student. Teachers will also be able to assign student lessons in accordance with TEKS/TAKS objectives or by subject area. Teachers can create benchmark tests, and generate and review performance reports by individuals or by campus. After this one day “hands-on” session, teachers will be able to guide students through the student portions of the program. The training course is most effective if follow-up training is conducted on an annual basis. This will allow your new teachers to be trained and those that need a refresher of the basic training. It also will allow the presentation of any enhancements added to the software by the publisher.
Implementing A+LS on Each Campus
This campus-to-campus training will involve a general review and will include the addressing of any questions relating to the use of the software. Common topics include creating class rosters, setting up classes and lesson planning. We will be performing one-half day training sessions on each of the campuses. We ask at least one person from each campus attend the implementation process. We will need the trainer to be provided with class names, student names and passwords or ID’s. This will insure the implementation training will be successful.
Advanced A+LS Functions and Support Training
This campus-to-campus will involve a general review and will include the addressing of questions relating to the use of the software. The trainer will assist with the preparation of various reports and modifying IEP’s as needed. Presentation of enhancements, including new versions of the software, would also be expanded.
